NISKAYUNA- William "Bill" James Arsenault, 78, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2014.

Bill was born on January 15, 1936, in Berlin, N.H, to the late William and Santa Arsenault. He was a graduate of East Hartford High School in 1954.
He married his high school sweetheart, Janice Hebert, and they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Bill was predeceased by his son, William Arsenault, and is survived by his children; Lynn (Robert) Sofka of Las Cruces, NM, Julie (Jack) Bevilacqua of Colonie, Michael (Wendy) Arsenault of Bonita Springs, Fl, daughter in-law; Ramona Sietsma, grandchildren; Laura and Megan Sofka, John and Jessica Bevilacqua, Michael and Benjamin Arsenault, and his sister Carol (Bob) Schmidt of Mount Laurel, NJ. He also leaves cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bill served as a communication specialist in the US Air Force until 1958, followed by a successful career in communication systems with Ericsson GE, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed many summers with his friends and family at his camp at Penn Heights Beach Club on Sacandaga Lake and wintered in Melbourne, Florida.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center -Lourdes Unit along with Community Hospice staff and volunteers for providing compassionate and loving care to Bill during his illness. They made his final days comfortable and peaceful.

Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Thursday , September 18, 2014 at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave, Albany, NY, with a Christian Mass immediately following at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to Our Lady of Mercy Life Center: Lourdes Unit, located at 2 Mercycare Lane Guilderland, NY 12084, and The Community Hospice Foundation, donations.communityhospice.org, located at 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144
