Robert J. "Bob" Burg
1930 - 2013

COLONIE-Robert J. “Bob” Burg, 83 entered into eternal rest on August 9, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side after a short illness. He was born in Albany, NY on August 3, 1930, the son of the late Paul and Margueritte (Marth) Burg. Bob is the loving husband of Margaret Simpson and the late Theresa Vitetta.
Bob was predeceased by his siblings Paul Burg, William Burg and Marge Toohey. Bob was employed for many years as a teamster working for W. M Girvan, delivering for the A & P food markets. He retired on March 1, 1993 from the Movers, Inc.
Bob is the father of Robert of Albany, Donald of West Palm Beach, FL, Kenneth (Lisa) of Davie, FL, Theresa of Rochester and Joseph (Lisa) of Guilderland; grandfather to Blaine and Christian Pierce, Anthony and Ryan Burg, and Karly and Alyssa Burg. Bob also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He also leaves his beloved pet dog Buddy and his friends, the dog walkers in Cook Park.
His greatest interests were classic automobiles, watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family. He was a NY Yankee fan and enjoyed playing pinochle. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers at Sacandaga Lake.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospice, Albany in memory of Bob.
