Halfmoon- David Walter Locke passed away with his loving wife by his side after a brief illness at the Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park. He was 72 years old.
The son of the late Walter H. and Harriett (Callahan) Locke, David was born on July 6, 1943 in Schenectady, NY. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1961. He attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. He married Anna Marie Grimm on January 21, 1967 in Schenectady.
David worked for 47 years for Colonie Motors Group which later became Langan Motor Group. He retired as service manager of the Audi division in 2013.
David kept a well maintained flower garden as a favorite pastime. He had a great love for animals, especially his “granddog” Max. David was a natural caretaker, giving his time and energy to helping those he knew. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife of 47 wonderful years, Anna Marie; his daughter Deborah Ann Locke; his brother Thomas E. Locke (Ann); his brother-in-law William J. Grimm (Mary); his sister-in-law Loretta C. Grimm (James) and several nieces and one nephew.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm on Sunday, September 27 at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 52 William St, Mechanicville . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Monday, September 28 at the Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Neurological Unit at Albany Medical Center, especially the 4th floor nursing staff and Dr. Sami, also the entire staff at the Schulyer Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in David’s name to The CJD Foundation, 341 W. 38th Street, Suite 501, New York, NY 10018; The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Emergency Corps, 15 Crossing Blvd, Clifton Park, NY 12065; All Saints on the Hudson Roman Catholic Church, 52 William Street, Mechanicville, NY 12118 or to your local animal shelter.
