Samuel J. Poutre passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 16, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. He was 64 years old.
The son of the late Joseph and Simone (Pellitier) Poutre, Sam was born on May 3, 1951 in Albany, NY. “Sam the Man” had a great love for his family and friends. He worked until his retirement for the City of Albany. He was an avid bowler in his younger years. He was also a WWE wrestling fan. Throughout his life, he was always in search of a good time. Sam was a member of the PACC in Albany. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Amy (Thomas Satalino) Poutre; his grandchildren: Amado and Samuel Colon, Alexis and Kierra Satalino; his siblings: Paul Poutre and Dora Klose; many nieces and nephews; his special companion Cheryl Vautrin and his former wife and life-long friend Angela Landry.
In addition to his parents Sam is predeceased by his brothers: Joseph, Richard, Thomas Poutre; and his sisters: Patricia Palmer, Joan Boyle, Helen Hoctor, and Della Dayter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, June 19 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 am on Saturday, June 20 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
