Wilma A. Schottenham, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Ellis Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Wilma was the daughter of Nedria Hopper and the late Harry Arter. She was the devoted wife of over 20 years to Robert Schottenham.
She enjoyed word puzzles, watching western movies, traveling, talking on the phone, going out to eat, spending time with her family but mostly she loved making everyone around her lives happy.
In addition to her father and her husband she was predeceased by her loving friend, Shirley Rhodes and by her brother-in-law, Angelo Drago.
Wilma is survived by her mother, Nedria Hopper; she is the sister of; Cheryl Flores and Nedria Drago, her nephews and nieces; Brian, Brent, Jack, Tina, Lola, Mariann, Kelly, Misty, Donna, Linda and Jerry. She is also survived by her dear friend, Vicki Adair and many other close family members and friends.
She will be dearly missed by all that knew her, she was a dear friend to many.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY on Wednesday, January 31st from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lyons St East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 in Wilma's memory.
