William Sanford Waters

William Sanford Waters passed in his sleep on Nov. 7, 2017 four days shy of his 91st birthday. He is now with his beloved wife, Ivory.
Originally, from Dover, Delaware, William called Sanford by his family; he came to Albany with his wife Ivory, in the 50's, to work at General Electric in Schenectady. He worked there until his retirement. In retirement, he enjoyed reading, painting, and his annual vegetable garden.
William Sanford, is survived by his daughter Kate, and her daughter Ebony; his sons Sanford Bartell, and Rafiq Abdul Wakil, and his wife Kadija Rachid, and their son Talal. He also has a nephew William I. Watson, wife Brenda; as well as many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Sanford was a loving father and husband, and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, November 17 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at 9 am on Saturday, November 18 at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
