William P. Piurek

Colonie - William P. Piurek, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Born in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Peter and Clara (Walag) Piurek.

William is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Roberta J. (Silka) Piurek. Bill and Roberta’s love story began when they were just five years old, after serving together as ring bearer and flower girl in a wedding. They went on to share 56 wonderful years of marriage.

Bill was an avid golfer and a devoted Boston Red Sox fan who especially enjoyed attending games and traveling to Spring Training. He worked for many years with the New York State Department of Transportation before his retirement. Bill and Roberta cherished spending their winters in Florida, where they made lasting friendships and memories They loved traveling and visited all 50 states.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Kathleen M. Baker and Cynthia M. (Timothy) Card; his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa M. Baker, Lauren E. Baker, Dylan M. Card, and Morgan N. Card; his sister, Diane L.Trzaskos (David); his godson, Scott M. Trzaskos (Jessica); his niece, Sheri A. (Todd) Roberts; and several grand-nieces and a grand-nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Albany, NY.

The family will greet guests following the Mass.

Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
