Listen to Obituary

William F. Pierce, of Albany, New York, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, just one month shy of his 84th birthday. He was born on March 7, 1942, to Pauline and Frank Pierce.

William was a man defined by hard work, skill, and determination. He owned and operated his own construction company and was a highly skilled mason, known for the quality of his craftsmanship and the pride he took in every job. His work left a lasting mark on countless homes and buildings—and on everyone who knew his work ethic.

He proudly served six years in the United States Army, an experience that shaped his sense of discipline, resilience, and storytelling. William had no shortage of wild stories and memorable experiences, which he loved to share with family and friends.

Beyond his work, William was an entrepreneur and lake lover. He owned The Maples lakeside camps and Quack Ups restaurant on Cossayuna Lake, places that brought people together and reflected his love of good food, good company, and lakeside life.

In his free time, William enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking—especially cooking for others. But his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Katie Buckley, and a proud grandfather to Mindy, Sam, and Bart, whom he loved deeply. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Priscilla, Stella, Sammy, Kali, and Bailey, who brought him immense happiness.

In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his sisters, Jane Clements and Linda Dickert.
