William A. Lasak

Bradenton, Florida — William A. Lasak, affectionately known as ‘Mr. Bill’, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, at Tampa General Hospital.

Born in Niskayuna, New York, Bill spent most of his life in Guilderland before recently making the move to Bradenton, Florida, where he enjoyed what he had long looked forward to — sunshine, beautiful surroundings, and time spent close to his family.

His recent move to Florida marked the beginning of a long-awaited adventure. Those final months brought the promise of a new chapter in the sunshine state, surrounded by the beauty of his new home and, most importantly, Dorothy his wife of 61 years, daughter Lori Quay, her children Justin, Jordan, and London, and son-in law Joel. His oldest son Robert resides in Florida, NY while his youngest son Edward predeceased him. Also, predeceased by his parents Frank and Lorraine (Legere) Lasak.

Bill was deeply loved by his many family and friends. His humor, warmth, easygoing nature, and always positive presence made him one of a kind. He leaves behind countless memories, stories, and moments that will continue to bring smiles to his family and those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed, but the joy and guidance he brought to others and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 10am-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 12pm with interment to follow at St. Cyril & Method Cemetery
