William E. Fahy

William Edwin Fahy, 86, of the Village of Colonie, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026.

Born in Utica, NY, William was the son of the late William Patrick Fahy and Theresa Marie Fahy. He was predeceased by his wife and first love, Roberta “Birdie” Fahy. He was lucky to find a second love who predeceased him, Janice Wall.

A proud veteran, William served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1961. Bill and Birdie raised their family in New Hartford, NY where Bill achieved many accomplishments including president of the Jaycee’s, supporter and contributor of New Hartford Sports including ice hockey and baseball.

He was highly skilled and passionate about woodworking, contributing many projects to his community - including benches at the Colonie Village Fire House and work at Pine Grove Methodist Church - efforts that earned him the key to the Village of Colonie. William also enjoyed painting and singing and was a cherished member of the Colonie Village Singers. Known for his warmth and wide circle of friends, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

William is survived by his children Shawn Fahy (Tabitha), Sharon Martini (Michael), and Michael Fahy (Tracy); grandchildren Tyler Brown, Hannah Fahy, Catherine Martini, Nathan Breedon, David Martini, Hunter Breedon and Dylan Martini; and great-grandchildren Eli and Margaret Brown. He will also be missed by his sisters Dorothy Sege and Ellen Gaetano (Pasquale) and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 4th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m.
