William John Bushee

William "Bill" John Bushee, age 79, of Rotterdam, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center following a short illness.

Bill was born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1947, the son of the late William F. Bushee and Dorothy (Carson) Bushee. He graduated from Veterans Memorial High School in Warwick, Rhode Island, in 1965.

In 1966, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. During his military service, he earned the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Upon completing his military service, Bill moved to Schenectady, NY. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology from SUNY Schenectady and went on to work for Atlas Copco Comptec in Voorheesville as a machinist and designer for 35 years until his retirement in 2014. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed working on his truck, building computers, and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife Bonita (Schneible) Bushee of 57 years; two daughters, Janet (William) Cotterall of Tallahassee, FL, and Nancy Bushee of Ballston Lake, NY; and grandchildren, Avery and Mason Cotterall. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert (Mary) Bushee, John (Nancy) Bushee, and Judy (Roderick) Kerkhoff, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
