William J. Blakely III

William J. Blakely III, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on April 16, 2026. Born in 1938, in Pittstown, New York, to the late William J. and Ettamae Blakely.

A proud graduate of Hoosick Valley High School, William embarked on a path that reflected his strong work ethic and sense of duty. From 1956 to 1960, he served honorably in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic.

Following his military service, William built a career that spanned from security work to working as an assemblyman at Ford Motor Company.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Marie (Russ) Derby and Gale (Bob) Rose.

William is survived by his loving children: Donna Alaskey, William “John" (Deb) Blakely, Dan (Michelle) Blakely, Michael Blakely, Jennifer Leno, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and determination. His family circle extended warmly to seven nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

William J. Blakely III’s life story is one of honor, commitment, and love—qualities that defined his years from his earliest days to his peaceful passing. As his loved ones remember and celebrate his life, they honor a man who lived with integrity and grace, leaving behind a foundation that will support generations to come.
