BRAINARD, NY- William “Bill” G. Boevin, age 83, passed away on May 22, 2025.
He was born in Lake Placid, NY, the son of the late George and Rita Boevin. He was also predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen Boevin.
Bill started his career learning to become a welder in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict (stationed in Germany), then transitioned to a Union Iron Worker. He later moved on to be a Union Boilermaker with Union Local 197 in Albany.
He loved skiing with his son, loved going to car shows, bowling, golf, Yankees baseball and Buffalo Bills football. He also loved going to the casinos and shows with his wife. He loved watching the ski training and race videos of his granddaughter, Savannah.
Bill is survived by his son, Travis and daughter in law, Mary; granddaughter, Savannah; and cousin, Donna.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his celebration of life at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with full Army honors will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY following at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Community Hospice and sent to: The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
