Albany- William Bernardo Baptista, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2016. He was born in Providence Rhode Island.
Bill was a veteran of WWII, proudly serving the Army Air Force. He then went on to graduate from college in Rhode Island. His final career was serving as an executive for the United Way of Northeastern New York. Bill enjoyed his time as a member of the Mendelson Club.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Gina Gilligan-Baptista. He is also survived by his children, Sandra Husband-Baptista, William Baptista, Jr. and his wife Roxanne, Mark Baptista, and Lynn Baptista; several grandchildren and great-granchildren; his brother, Walter Baptista and his wife Edie; his sisters, Rita Gomes (Jeffrey Hall), Mary Delgado and her husband Albert, and Julia Baptista-Clemet and her husband Elliott; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by his first wife Barbara (Buckner) Baptista, the mother of his children. He was also predeceased by his parents Manuel and Dora Baptista.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
