William A. Spiegel

William A. "Bill" Spiegel, 72, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2015 at home with his family by his side.
Bill was born July 8, 1942, in Schenectady, he is the son of the late Wesley C. and Mildred M. Spiegel.
He attended and graduated from Linton High School in 1961.
He worked at GE, in Schenectady as a Machinist in the Turbin Department for 32 1/2 years, retiring in 1998. He was also a school bus driver working for several school districts, serving 11 years at Guilderland school district
before retiring in 2004. He also helped start Brown Transportation.
Bill enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, traveling, finally making it to Alaska. He was an avid Met fan, Valley Cat fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks.
Bill is survived by his wife, Debra J.(Schultz) Spiegel. He is the father of Dawn Brady and "Mindy" (Scott Crewell) Spiegel, his step sons, Matt and Jeff Dessormeau. He is the cherished grandfather of Tim, Zachary, Hannah and Sarah. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas (Agnes) Spiegel and his dear friends, John (Marlene) Carrioti, his feline companion, Shelby and two nieces.
The family would like to thank Rose Muscatello, Bill Pritchard and Karen Hotaling for all of there care and compassion given to Bill.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144, in Bills memory.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
