Wayne A. Smith Jr.

Albany- Wayne A. Smith Jr., passed away at home on December 17, 2025 from complications of Muscular Dystrophy. He was born March 5, 1968 in Albany, NY to Wayne A. Smith Sr. and Nancy C. (Simons) Smith.

He graduated from Clayton A. Bouton Junior Senior High School in 1986, Hudson Valley Community College in 1988 and 1995, Siena College in 1997 and received his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School in 2003. He was admitted to the NYS Bar in 2004.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is survived by his sisters Cheri Smith and Cindy Cullen. He is also survived by his beloved nephew Tyler Cullen (Courtney). He is also survived by many close friends who he cherished until the end.

He was predeceased by his brother in law Thomas Cullen and his beloved dog, Sarge.

He was very proud of being “Attorney Wayne A. Smith Jr.”, he loved his job and practiced at his firm Smith Hoke until the day before his death.

He was a life long fan of the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys and requested his wake not be on a football Sunday.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 3:30pm-630pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A sharing of memories will be held from 6:30pm-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested you do an act of kindness for someone or give a generous tip to a server.

A celebration of his life will be held on January 3, 2026 from 2pm-6pm at Normanside Country Club, 150 Salisbury Rd., Delmar, NY 12054.
