Vitaliano "Vito"A. Gabriel

MENANDS_Vitaliano A. Gabriel , 78, passed away November 11, 2015 at home after a short illness surrounded by his family.

He was born March 24, 1937 in Italy, the son of the late Pietro and Agnes (Gatti) Gabriel and he was later adopted by the late Louis and Antoinette Gabriel.

Vito was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard. He was a quiet man with a big heart, a devoted father and grandfather and a loyal friend. Vito was content with a glass of wine and a western on Tv. Vito was a proud member of the Watervliet Rod and Gun club and he will be dearly missed by his many friends there.

Vito is survived by his wife Carolyn Gabriel, daughter, Gabriella (Martina) Gabriel Dillmann; grandchildren, Gabriel and Quinlan Greagan, Ariane, Julian and Sally Becker; brothers, Thomas (Asunda) Gabriel, Antonio Gabriel, Louis (Margie) Gabriel Jr.; sister, Giselda; mother-in-law, Gustava Froschauer;sisters-in-law, Rita Gabriel, Peggy Gabriel, Nancy Gabriel and numerous nieces,nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Loretto Gabriel, John Gabriel and Mario Gabriel.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home in Colonie from 5-7pm. A funeral service for Vito will be held at New Comer Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:00am.
