Green Island

Vincent J. Pitruzzella, 80, of Green Island and Gulfport, Florida, passed away surrounded by family at home on July 6, 2025. He previously was also a long-time resident of Clifton Park for many years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Salvatore and Florence Pitruzzella, Vincent went on to graduate from John Jay High School. Following graduation, he worked for the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs before retiring.

In his free time, especially in retirement, Vincent appreciated many different things including gardening, fishing, and cooking. Besides his two homes in Green Island and Gulfport, he also enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire to admire the ocean. Most of all, he looked forward to spending time with his family whom he cared for deeply.

Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Marie. Their three children, Deanna (James) Keneston of Rotterdam, NY, Joseph Pitruzzella of Green Island, NY and Angela Pitruzzella of Green Island, NY. His cherished granddaughter, Sophia Keneston, 3. His niece, Deborah Simeone, and nephews: Michael Lia, William Lia, and Vincent Lia. As well as his brother in law, Michael Capano and sister in law, Rosemary (Anson) Film. Besides his family, he is survived by neighbors that turned to be special friends, Janna and Jerry Holuck.

In addition to his parents, Vincent was predeceased by his sister and brother in law, Linda (William) Lia.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice for their assistance and support in his final days, along with Dr. Manuel Salazar of the Bay Area in St. Petersburg, Florida for his continued care. Additionally, a special thank you to New Comer Cremations and Funerals, Watervliet, NY for their assistance and condolences during this difficult time.

On behalf of the family, services will be held privately. An interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy, NY.
