Albany- Vincent J. Caterina entered into eternity on February 6, 2026, into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, following a 3 year battle with cancer. Vince is survived by his wife, Lynn M. Caterina; sons Jason Caterina and Jacob DeWolfe; brother Louis (Barb Dorvee) Caterina; grandchildren Zoe Caterina and Ian Caterina; lifelong friends, Steven & Marsha Kargatis; and honorary nephews, Jonathan and Michael Kopcha. He is also survived by his niece Laura (Jordon) Floss, nephews Dominic (Lori) Caterina and Phil (Angela) Caterina, several brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends. Vincent was predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Joan Caterina, and sister, Diane Miller.
Vince graduated from Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls, class of 1963; Niagara County Community College’s first graduating class in 1965 with a AAS in Accounting and SUNY Albany in 1968 with a BS in Accounting.
Vince was drafted into the US Army in 1968 going through basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey and then to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for advance artillery training and finally served at Fort Hood, Texas with the 2nd Armored Division, 502 Admin Company, Finance Office, where he earned the rank of Specialist 5th class.
After the service Vince was employed at the State Comptroller’s Office, Division of Municipal Affairs for 35 years and at BST & Co. CPAs as a Senior Consultant for 17 years.
Vince came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 45, and enjoyed studying the Bible and learning and growing in his faith. He was a Long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church serving on various committees.
As a founding member of the Land Sharks volleyball team at the O.C. Ski Club summer league, he enjoyed playing volleyball with friends for many years.
Vince had a special interest in cars, particularly classic cars, and was a volunteer photographer for the online site Hot Rod Hot Line and enjoyed traveling around the Northeast visiting classic car shows to take pictures and talk with owners about the restoration projects done with their cars.
Calling hour will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11:00am- 12:00pm followed by 12:00pm service held at Trinity Baptist Church, 2635 Balltown Road, Niskayuna, NY. After the service a reception will be held in the church Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to attend. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Albany, NY, with a graveside service for family to be held at a later date.
