Truman C. Groff

COLONIE – Truman C. Groff, 75, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Truman C. and Margaret (Redden) Groff.
Truman graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1957. He was the owner of Truman's Restaurant and Grill in Colonie from 1972 to 2015.
Along with his parents, Truman was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle LaMorta.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Betty (Sager) Groff; children Truman (Maria) Groff, Curtis (Crystal) Groff, Brenda (Rich) Willey, Robert (Belinda) Shumway, and Kenneth (Teresa) Shumway; siblings Roger W. Groff, David (Diane) Groff and Elaine (Stanley) Hickok; thirteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Hospice for their amazing care, especially Lindsey.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 9:30 am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in Truman's name.
