Our Earth Angel, Tom Carter Jr., went home on, October 7, 2025.

Tom was born in Birmingham Alabama Historic Rosedale Section to Amanda Mae Anderson Williams Carter and William (Tom) Carter Sr. As an Teenager Tom left the Segregated South in search of a better life. Always one to never allow things to detour him, when things didn’t workout in Ohio, With his saving he boarded a Greyhound bus to New York City. There he immediately found employment at an Bowling Alley and was directed to the YMCA for a Room. He remained at the Bowling Alley until Enlisting in the United States Navy. After Serving his time in the Military he returned to New York City for a brief stay. An employment offer brought him to Albany New York. There he enjoyed a slower life style pace and seeing green grass reminded him of home in Rosedale Alabama, he decided to stay. In Albany Good Luck continued to follow him. Jimmy Williams a driver for the Democratic Leader Dan O’Connell assisted him with securing a job at the United States Postal Service. There he was employed for many year as a Supervisor. There he also meet Theresa his Wife of 37 years. After his employment with the Post Office Tom worked for the Martin Luther Institute in Albany, New York. There he had the pleasure of meeting Martin Luther King III and others Pioneers from the Civil Rights Era. Tom was a go getter and known for making a way out of no way. He was always looking for opportunities to expand his entrepreneur talents for the betterment of his family.

Tom had many hobbies. However his favorites were Gardening and because of the beauty of his gardens was often told he had a “Green Thumb”. He also enjoyed watching TV, Bowling, and going for drives with his Wife.

Tom is survived by his wife, Thelma Theresa Carter, Daughter Laura Griffin, New Jersey, Grandchildren Jordan, Jayden and Jeneice Richardson; Sisters, Carolyn Frazier, Birmingham Alabama, Inez Frazier Dailey, Birmingham Alabama and Mary Ann Frazier Noye, Compton California; Brothers Edward Frazier, Birmingham Alabama and Alfred Woods, Compton California; Godchildren, Kim Penn, Albany New York, Whitney Jones, Chicago Illinois and Devar Jones(Semefa) Michigan; A Dear Cousin Jerry Bethune, Alabama and A host of Cousins, Friends James and Mary King. He is also survived by beloved In-laws.

Tom is predeceased in death by his Parents Amanda Mae Anderson Williams Carter and his Father William (Tom) Carter Sr; His Sisters, Elizabeth Ann Reed, Jeannie Mae Williams, Henrietta Allums; and His Brother, John Jackson.

At Tom's request, there will be a Private Service for Family and Friends.
