Thomas S. Rivers

LOUDONVILLE- Thomas Steven Rivers, 57, died on February 6, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice after a long illness.

Tom retired from the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance as a Sr. Clerk. He enjoyed bowling, music, WWE wrestling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his brother, Leo J. Rivers Jr. of Loudonville, Jacob R. (Ruth) Rivers Sr. of Colonie, and his sister, Frances M. Reed of Colonie. Tom cherished his time with his nephew, Jacob R. Rivers Jr., and his niece, Katie M. Rivers. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tom was predeceased by his father, Leo J. Rivers Sr., his mother, Frances Sophie Samarija Rivers, and his brother-in-law, John J. Reed.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Tom's caring physicians; Dr. Kathleen Ozsvath, Dr. Richard Altwerger, Dr. Kimberly Peregrim, Dr. Mohammed Monzur, Dr. Michael Martinelli, and Dr. Jamie Krepostman, and their dedicated staff. The family would also like to thank the Albany Dialysis Center staff for their loving support and his many friends on dialysis.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Colonie Chapel, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 9:00am-11:00am with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
