Thomas A. DeFelice (TAD) passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 after a long illness. Thomas was born on March 24, 1948.

Born in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Carmen and Audrey DeFelice, Sr. Thomas graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1966 and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 2003 with a tour in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He worked for the New York Army National Guard form 1973 until his retirement as a master Sergeant in 2003.

Thomas was a communicant of Christ Our Light Church and a Life Member of the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department. During his time with the department he held the office of Vice-President, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Captain of the SRLFD Fire Police. He was also a member of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fire Association and the Hudson Mohawk Volunteer Fire Association. He had a fondness for Baseball, especially the NY Yankees. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and attending neighborhood parties.

Husband of the late Carol M. (Hofmann) DeFelice for 45 years. Loving father of Michelle (Greg) Alread of Kentucky, Christine (Michael) Jarvis of Queensbury, Kimberly (Donald III) MacMillan of Saratoga Springs, and Erica Eichorst of Alaska; cherished grandfather of Bryanna and Greg (Shay) Alread Jr., Jessica Jarvis (Connor Cavanagh), Donald IV, Rebecca, and Emily (Miss M) MacMillan, Casey, Kailah (Nathaniel) Brewer, and Nathan Eichorst. Great grandfather of Joshua Eichorst, Madelyn Eichorst, Owen Eichorst, Sidney Eichorst, Hudson Brewer, Sage Alread, and Avalon Eichorst He was also patiently and lovingly awaiting the birth of two more great grandchildren, Jayce Michael and Baby Brewer. In addition, he was survived by his brother, Robert, Aunt Pearl DePaulo and several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Thomas was predeceased by his brothers Carmen, Jr. and Charles, mother-in-law Anne “Nancy” (Lennon) Hofmann, father-in-law Robert Hofmann, Sr. and brother-in-law Robert Hofmann, Jr. As well as his dear great grandbaby, Emma Eichorst. Thomas also missed his furry best friend, Lacy.

Calling hours will be held on June 20 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville with burial to immediately follow. Date and time to be confirmed.
