WESTERLO Thomas E. Carroll, 61, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 20, 1956, son of the late Peter and Joan Carroll.
Tom was a graduate of CBA and had many fond memories playing on the CBA football team.
He worked as a Corrections Officer at Albany County Jail for 35 years. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities for the Counsel 82 Law Enforcement Union.
He loved hunting and fishing. Tom loved spending time at his camp on Kayuta Lake with his wife and their family. They loved going out on their boat. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants. Tom's family wishes to reveal his best kept secret, his love for gardening.
Tom will be remembered fondly (by some) for his quick wit and sarcastic humor. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A kind hearted and wonderful man who will be very deeply missed.
Tom was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Kathleen Carroll.
He is survived by his children, Melissa Mackie, Christine Carroll, Thomas Carroll (Martha), Matthew Carroll; grandchildren, Carinda Mackie, Claudia Sisson, Joel Sisson, Thomas Carroll; siblings, Peter (Lil) Carroll, Carinda (Bob) Thoma, Jim (Cathy) Carroll, Michael (Peggy) Carroll and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 15, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave, Albany. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. prior to Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.
