Terry W. Teal, 69, husband to Lisa Teal of Poestenkill, passed away at home on Monday, December 22, 2025 after a painful, tiring, and courageous 3 year fight against cancer.
He was an exceptionally dedicated man, always giving and supporting others, often at his own expense. His generosity came without hesitation or expectation. He was a very proud, respectful man, he had an edge but was very compassionate. His favorite role in life was being “PaPa”, they loved him so much. Losing him is going to leave an irreplaceable void in their lives. His love and respect for his sons-in-law, who cherish his daughters, was truly immense. They were like "sons" to him in so many ways. He loved Lisa beyond words, sharing almost 40 years of marriage and 43 years of love together.
Terry was a lifelong resident of Poestenkill and graduated from Averill Park High School. He dedicated 14 years of his career as the welding and fabricating shop foreman at All Phase Fabricating. After that, he spent 11 years working as a welder and pipefitter at Albany Specialties. Terry retired after twenty years, most of which he served as a foreman for The Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 7. His commitment and hard work throughout his career truly reflect his dedication.
He cherished the moments spent with his wife, daughters, and especially his grandchildren. His favorite place was in the bay at Ocean City, Maryland, where he loved to relax with a cold beer, a clam rake, a durag, and his family by his side. He also found joy in being on his tractor, sharing his knowledge with the boys, and taking occasional breaks to pick worms. Terry had a knack for being a handyman and often enjoyed tinkering around the house.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Lisa Teal and their two daughters Kayleigh (Daniel Luczkowec) Teal and Kayla (Aaron) VanBaaren. His grandchildren, Rylan Teal and Jaxon and Mia VanBaaren. Also survived by his daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” George and her children.
Terry would want everyone to have a beer and remember the good times.
