Tammy Cole Moore, lovingly known as “Mimi,” was born in Schenectady, New York, and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life, especially the Hamilton Hill neighborhood she proudly called home. She passed away on January 30, 2026, surrounded by family in Schenectady.
Tammy lived her life showing up for people. She worked as a community advocate, outreach worker, and case manager with Youth Life Support Network, Inc., but to her it was never just a job — it was personal. She spent her days, and plenty of late nights, checking on her people and making sure no one felt forgotten or alone. When someone was struggling, she didn’t hesitate — she showed up. The time didn’t matter. The situation didn’t matter. If you needed her, she was on her way. Caring for others wasn’t just something she did — it was simply who she was.
Tammy brought energy wherever she went. She loved dancing and putting together looks that were completely her own, and she had a gift for lifting a room with humor — joking, making faces, using animated gestures, and helping people laugh even on hard days. At her core, she was a mother first. She loved and fiercely protected her five children — Shawaski, Iyonce, Mesiah, Nadeem, and Kie’zell — who were the center of her world. Her motherly care reached beyond her home, and many others looked to her for comfort, guidance, and steady support.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Pamela and Duane Cole, and her siblings Garth Cole, Jay Cole, and Shelly Cole.
She is survived by her husband Raliek Moore, sisters, Melodie Cole and Elizabeth Cole; her children; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and loved ones. She built strong, lasting relationships across her life, and her circle reached far and wide.
A Celebration of Life will be announced. Those attending are encouraged to wear red, her favorite color.
Her family asks that her life be honored by continuing to show up for one another and by helping ensure her children are always supported and cared for.
