Colonie- Susan Elizabeth Price, 81, wife of the late Edward William Price, Jr., passed away peacefully June 30, 2025, at her home in Colonie, NY.
Born September 4, 1943, in Albany, New York, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Olive Marion MacFarland.
Susan, a graduate of Albany High School, began a successful career as a teller at Key Bank. Through years of dedication and hard work, she quickly climbed the ranks, retiring after 40 years of service as a Vice President of Human Resources. During her time at Key, Sue also served on the board of The Capital Urban League Inc.
Susan will be remembered for her infectious and often self-deprecating humor. She left a lasting impact on all who met her, often making long-term friendships with complete strangers. Sue had a generous heart and a kind soul. She had an incredible talent for making those around her feel special and included. Sue was a deeply empathetic soul, always willing to listen and offer comfort and understanding. Her guidance and support were often sought after by her many friends, family, and coworkers.
She is survived by her sons, Edward III of Colonie, and Brian and his wife Jennifer of Niskayuna. Susan is also survived by her granddaughter, Sofia of Colonie; her sister, Janice of Lake George, NY; her brother, Paul MacFarland of Colonie, NY; and seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Bruce.
Friends may call on Friday, July 11, 2025, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumite Rd, Loudonville, at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to her team of caregivers, Holly, Katie, Vanessa, Alicia, Samantha, Jessica, Jamie, Melissa, Miriam, and Brandi, for their dedicated and compassionate care during her final months. They also extend heartfelt thanks to the friends and family members who offered assistance and comfort, particularly Betty and George Rehonis, Judy Capulo, Mary Ann Splonskowski, and Neil Allegretto, whose support was deeply appreciated.
