Steven J. Knightes, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 14, 2015 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born on February 5, 1962 in Schenectady the son Patricia and the late Kenneth Knightes. He graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1980 and received his Bachelors in 1985 from SUNY Cortland. Steve worked on Wall Street early in his career. He also owned and operated several car washes with his father in the Schenectady Area. Steve enjoyed the outdoors and was a NY Giants Fan.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Tammie, his son, Kevin (Brittany) Knightes, daughter, Lauren Knightes, son, Robert Knightes, step-daughter, Colleen O'Riley, brother, Gregory (Randi) Knightes, sisters, Eileen (Tom) Litz, Susan (Michael) Hladik, Linda (Ben) Wilkie, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Schenectady, NY.
Burial immediately following at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Organ Donations Registry.
