Stephanie A. Mcqueen

Stephanie Ann (Sheldon) McQueen, 51, was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2018 at St. Peters Hospital.
Stephanie was born on April 11, 1967 in Albany, New York to the late Donna M. Sheldon and Herman Washington. She adored and loved her mother dearly, whom as a single parent raised her, two boys, and a granddaughter. They affectionately called themselves "The Sheldon Five."
After graduating from Albany High School, Stephanie became gainfully employed with the New York State Department of Higher Education. She quickly advanced in her career and moved to the New York State Division of Housing & Community Renewal, where she spent the majority of her tenure. The great part of being employed there was she had the opportunity to work in the same building as her mother until Donna retired in 2002. During Stephanie's many years of employment with NYS, she became great friends with Barbara Horton & Rene Dixon, who within no time became part of the family. She was recently honored with a certificate of dedication for having 31 years of State service.
With her beautiful smile and loving heart, Stephanie enjoyed spending time with loved ones, getting her hair & nails done faithfully, cooking, traveling to New York City for relaxation & shopping, and collecting Build-A-Bears.
In addition to her parents, Stephanie is also predeceased by her son, Shyaire L. Sheldon, maternal grandparents, Herbert L. (Sylvia E.) Sheldon, Sr. and maternal great-grandmother, Anna E. Benson. Also to predecease her are her aunts Sandra A. & Gwendolyn E. Sheldon and Isabelle N. Sheldon-Windom, as well as cousin Corey J. Sheldon, two uncles, Noah Blount, Jr. & Douglas W. Griffin, Sr. as well as cousins, Penny L. Goodwin-Foster & Jalissa M. Nesmith.
Left to mourn her passing is her loving and dedicated husband, Archie W. McQueen, daughter, Sharelle L. Sheldon, and brothers, Reginald L. (Marshey) Sheldon, Stephon A. (Christina) Morris, & Brian Hines, and her grandchildren, Daireon R. & Dezurae V. Harris. Also left to cherish her memory are her aunts & uncles, Herbert L. (Doreen) Sheldon, Jr., Lorraine Y. (Noah) Blount, Anita L. (Douglas, Sr.) Griffin, Arthur R. Sheldon, & Melissa A. (Carlos) Maisonet as well as Godson, Emilio R. Maisonet, Godbrother, Jamel M. Herring and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Known as "Steph, Stace, & Stephie-Ma," her fun and loving personality will truly be missed.

Calling hours will be held at Wilborn Temple First COGIC, 121 Jay Street, Albany New York 12210 on Monday, July 16, 2018; 11am-Noon immediately followed by the funeral service. The interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery followed by the Repast back at Wilborn Temple First COGIC.
