Shirley E. Sheets

Albany - Shirley E. Sheets, age 96, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. She was born in Albany, New York, to the late George and Ruth Froehlich.

Shirley was a graduate of Albany High School, Class of 1947. Following graduation, she was employed by Coal Merchant Insurance Company, where she worked as a keypunch operator.

On June 10, 1951, Shirley married the love of her life, Harry W. Sheets. Together, they shared 74 years of marriage. Shirley’s greatest joy was being a devoted wife and mother, and she took great pride in caring for her home and family. She enjoyed sewing, baking, spending summers at camp on Great Sacandaga Lake, and sharing cherished time with her loved ones.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, Harry Sheets; her children, Wayne Sheets (Emma Obern), Wendy Lang (Wayne), and Cheryl Schnackenberg (Glenn). Sister: Donna Seaburg (Curt). Her grandchildren, Elizabeth Sheets and Jason Lang (Kylie); and her great-grandchildren, Emily Lang and Owen Lang.

Shirley is preceded in death by Brother, Edward Froehlich and Sister in law, Mary Froehlich. 

She will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to family, her warmth, and her gentle spirit.
