Schenectady- Shirley B. Schultz , 80, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Shirley was the daughter of the late Oswald and Millicent Biittig and was the devoted wife of 39 years to the late James D. Schultz.
Shirley belonged to the Rotterdam Elks as a LORE member, and also participated in the Rotterdam Senior Center where she loved to go on trips with her friends. Shirley was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church, where she served as an Elder. She volunteered much of her time at the food pantry, church functions, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Shirley loved to bake, golf, bocce ball, quilt, paint, and sew.
Shirley is survived by her children: Kristin (Mike) Cornell, and Karlene (Brian) Ball; grandchildren: KellyAnne Cornell, Kyle James Cornell, Giana Lynn Ball, and Jameson Quincy Ball; and siblings: Gladys Corbeil, Dorothy Lillis, and Oswald (Sonny) Biittig.
Shirley is predeceased by her sister: Millicent Oliver.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Trinity Reformed Church, Rotterdam, on Saturday, February 18, at 11:00 am.
Shirley will be joining James in eternal rest at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to the Shirley Memorial fund. All donations will be given to her grandchildren in her honor.
