Sherry A. Berghela

WYNANTSKILL- Sherry A. Berghela, age 79, passed peacefully at home on September 8, 2026.

Sherry was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Hale. Beloved wife of Michael Berghela Jr. and loving mother of Michael, Patrick and Nicholas Berghela.

She was a dog mother and rescuer.

Sherry had a long respected Administrative career at NYS Dept. of Workers Compensation.

Survived by her son, Michael Berghela III; sisters: Patricia Matthews and Nancy and Edward Riely. Also survived by many cousins, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday September 17, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Friday September 18, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Spring Avenue, Troy, NY. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Menands.
