Sheila Ann (Burr) Kennedy was born on June 5, 1961, to the late Reverend Zelma Burr and Ruth Burr in Saratoga Springs, New York.
On January 4, 2026, God looked around and found a beautiful flower upon earth, put his arms around Sheila Kennedy and lifted her to rest at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She has now joined her parents, siblings and her oldest son: Reverend Zelma Burr, Ruth Burr, Zemelda Burr, Brenda Burr, Emma Jean Burr, Richard Burr and Marlon Kennedy into eternal rest.
Sheila was one of ten girls in the Burr household. She was educated in the Saratoga Springs School System. She worked in many capacities while living in Long Island. She moved to Schenectady, NY in 1999 and retired after 17 years at 7-Eleven in 2025.
Sheila gave her life to Christ, she loved the Lord and was a member of Higher Ground Worship Center in Schenectady. She was a loving mother, sister, nana, great grandmother, cousin, godmother, aunt and friend; always put others first and was the heart of our family. Sheila navigated life’s complexities with fearless curiosity and unshakeable courage.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters and a son: Teneille Burr, Kijiafa Burr, and Eugene Kennedy IV; seven grandchildren: Jamasia Moore, Kaharee Burr, Jayden Birch, Juliana Kennedy, Analeigh Burr-Huggins, Jeremiah Harry and Marlon Kennedy II; two great-grandchildren: Alanni Moore and Terrance Greene; six sisters: Geraldine (Bush) Warfield, Donna (Harvey) Burr-Jones, Carol (David) Bookhardt, Renee (Hezekiah) Gadson, Elizabeth (Robert) Vedder and Linda Burr; two brothers: Zelmo Burr and William Burr; nephew: Tito Burr; godchildren: Kalese Gay, Alisha Spencer and Tynard Breland; lifelong best friend: Jan Parton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
