Sheila Dempsey, born in 1948, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026.
Sheila was predeceased by her loving parents, Anita M. Dempsey (Roberts) and John “Jack” Dempsey. An only child, she leaves behind a family who cherished her deeply, including her cousins Keith Roberts, David Roberts, and Deborah Roberts, Matthew Larkin, and Roxanne Mullane, as well as many second cousins who affectionately knew her as "Aunt Sheila." She is also survived by her devoted life partner, William Davis.
Sheila was loved not only by her family, but also by her coworkers, church family, and dear friends, Claire and Phyllis. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people and touched countless lives through her kindness, humor, and genuine care for others. Known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Sheila brought laughter and joy wherever she went. She was a trusted confidant, a great sounding board, and someone people could always count on. Her presence made even ordinary moments special.
Sheila had a lifelong love for dogs, especially Bichons, and shared her home and heart with many beloved companions over the years. She was often the first-person friends and family called when they needed a house sitter, and she never passed up an opportunity to spend time cuddling a puppy.
She enjoyed spending time at Lake George, embracing the peace and beauty of lake life. She also treasured her trips to Worcester, Massachusetts, to visit a dear friend. One of Sheila's greatest dreams was to visit the Vatican and see the Pope.
Above all, Sheila will be remembered for her warmth, reliability, generosity, and sense of humor. She was truly a good person whose life enriched the lives of others. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
