Sharon M. Smith-Cannone

Sharon M. Smith-Cannone, 63, of Averill Park, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center Sunday September 27th with her beloved family by her side.

Born in Albany NY, October 1962, she was the daughter of the late Joeseph P. Smith Sr, and Kathleen E. Smith (Grogan).

Sharon was raised in North Albany and a graduate of Biship Magin going on to receive a degree in Social Work from Sienna in 1984. Sharon was honored to be in the 1983 Albany Tulip Queen Court. Sharon went on to work with several child service agencies including Big Brothers & Big Sisters, St. Catherines Center for Children, Girls Scouts of NE NY, Troy Boys & Girls Club while retiring from the Food Bank Association of NYS.

Sharon was the Women in Development president for several years, also received Executive of the year from the Empire State Chapter of the Boys & Girls Club Professional Association, Troy Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame while receiving the Rensselaer County Commendation for her efforts as Director of the Troy Boys & Girls Club securing a multi-million dollar grant to completely refurbish the club.

Sharon loved the NY Yankees, entertaining family & friends, attending concerts and dinning at the areas many fine dining restaurants.

Sharon is survived by her husband Anthony J Cannone Sr, Brother Michael Smith (Karen Dargen), Step son Anthony J Cannone Jr. (Shawna), Paul Cannone, Pamela (Jim) Held, Frank Cannone, Grand children Brittany & Grace Cannone, Nieces Jessica Wiley, Summer Sunshine B-Smith, Madison Smith, Samantha Smith, Nephews Steven Cannonne, Chris Cannone, Robbie (Emma) & William Held.
