Sharon Y. Reid was born on August 22, 1964, in Ellenville, New York, to the late Christine Reid and David Reid Jr.
Sharon later relocated to Poughkeepsie, New York, where she was educated in the public school system. In 1998, she made Albany, New York, her home. Determined to build a better future, she graduated from the Educational Opportunity Center in 2006 with a certification in Medical Technology. Sharon was formerly employed at Daisy Hair Salon and also dedicated her time as a volunteer with AMCH. A true go-getter with remarkable determination, she was especially proud of celebrating 24 years of recovery—a testimony to her perseverance, strength, and unwavering faith.
In 2009, Sharon united with the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend William E. Morgan. Her relationship with the Lord was the foundation of her life. She loved God with all her heart, mind, and soul and never hesitated to share her faith with others. Even as she entered the hospital for the final time on June 19, 2026, Sharon was witnessing to those around her, encouraging them with the hope found in Jesus Christ. Sharon was a true worshipper whose energetic praise reflected her deep love for the Lord, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who witnessed her heartfelt devotion.
Sharon will also be remembered for the way she loved people. Kind, compassionate and generous, she was always willing to help others. Fiercely loyal and a force to be reckoned with, Sharon left an unforgettable impression on everyone who was blessed to know and love her.
After a brief illness, on the afternoon of Monday, June 22, 2026, Sharon transitioned from life to life eternal. Through it all, she never lost her faith! Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Christine Reid and David Reid Jr.; her son, Marvin Hill; and her brother, Michael E. Reid.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Michael Graham (Kaylee Juracek); her siblings, Debra Reid and Wilbur J. Williams; her beloved grandchildren, Nadia Graham, Naomi Graham, and Kylan Graham; her niece, Angelica Webb; her nephews, Daniel Scott, Lakime Spratley, and Rahzare Williams; her “special nephew-in-law,” LaTwaun Dickens; her cousin, Asia Brooks; her spiritual father, Claude Long; her faithful, supportive friends, Altagracia Beltran, Madelaisy Jerez Beltran, Deaconess Patrice Burwell, Myra Coleman-Pugh, Kathy Coons, Deaconess Ruth Howard, NySherra Hudson (affectionately known as her daughter), Mia Gil Jerez, and Deanna Lipscomb; her “girls”, Princess Crawford and Aria Walker; along with a host of other relatives, dear friends, and her beloved Mount Pleasant Baptist Church family.
