Shannon McOmber, 51, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Though her passing was unexpected, she had been battling with an extended illness. She was born in Albany to John Connor and Cheryl Caulford.
Shan attended Colonie High School. It was there that she met her “true love”, Kurt, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. They filled each other’s life with music, laughter, and unforgettable memories; two souls intertwined on life’s great adventure.
Shannon enjoyed helping people and chose receptionist jobs in the medical and chiropractic fields. She loved music, with bands like Tool, Disco Biscuits, and Porcupine Tree providing the soundtrack to her life. Whenever possible, Shannon liked to travel to shows with her husband Kurt (SpecialK). In the quiet of home, she enjoyed spending time with her mom and dog, Harley. She loved drawing, playing with clay, and engaging in “farts and craps” (arts and crafts).
In addition to her husband and parents, Shannon is also survived by her mother-in-law, Barbara McOmber; her brother, Sean (Cassie) Connor; brother-in-law, David (Jeanne) McOmber; and sister-in-law Karen (John) Chapman. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Sammy, Amelia, Steven, Jessica, Nicole, Danielle, Devon, and Melanie as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Though she has departed from this earth, Shannon is now reunited with her sister, Sarah Caulford, her sister-in-law, Debbie McOmber, and her father-in-law, Lloyd McOmber who preceded her in death.
Shannon's spirit will forever echo in the hearts she touched, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. Her vibrant and unique light will continue to shine brightly through those she cherished, a reminder of the beauty of life and the bonds that endure beyond time.
