Santo Rosario Famulare

Santo Rosario Famulare, 59, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024 after a one year courageous battle with Esophageal cancer. He was born on November 28, 1965, in Albany, NY, to the late Santo and Theresa Famulare.

Santo was a 1983 graduate of Shaker High School in Latham, NY. He then graduated from Siena College achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and earned his Master’s degree in Economics from the University at Albany. Santo had a distinguished career as an Investment Advisor, working for Ayco/Goldman Sachs for nearly 27 years. During his time there, Santo held various roles ranging from spearheading the Investment Policy Committee to head of Investment Solutions. He created unique investment products and established a new portfolio business unit that managed over 10 billion in assets on the Goldman Sachs platform. He also published a sophisticated trading system for which he received a copyright in 1992. As Goldman Sachs became more prominent in the integration with Ayco, Santo was asked to be the investment expert to some of the firm’s largest clients. After he moved to Atlanta with his family in 2019, Santo later joined Rockefeller Capital Management in May of 2021. He played an integral role of expanding the business as a Senior Investment Advisor to individuals and institutions. His cultural impact at Ayco and Rockefeller Capital Management was profound as a leader, friend, business partner and trusted advisor. He earned an incredible amount of respect from colleagues and was a mentor to so many.

In his personal life, Santo enjoyed golf, boating, travel, and spending time at the lake with his family and friends in upstate NY. He loved the daily group texts with his 3 closest childhood friends who would discuss everything including politics, sports and family. He adored his three daughters and spent much of his time teaching them valuable life lessons. He loved joking around with the family and was known as doing things “Famulare Style”, a big running joke in the family. When he was younger, he spent a lot of time with his late brother, Carmen weightlifting at the Colonie Athletic Club. The brothers were well known in the community and were often seen wearing their weightlifting belts and participated in competitions where Santo held several trophies. 

Santo is known for his gentle and good-natured yet fiery spirit, he was a loving husband and a proud father who cherished time with his family above all else.

He is survived by his wife, Kim of almost 19 years; his beloved daughters, Alexa, Ava, and Gabriella; and a large and loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carmen Famulare.

Public calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 9am-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189. A public service will begin at 11am at funeral home. Private interment will follow the service. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Santo’s memory.

Santo will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
