COLONIE-Salvatore "Sonny" L. DiBiase, 90, passed away on September 2, 2016.
He was born on August 23, 1926 to the late Joseph and Madeline (D'Ambrosio) DiBiase in Staten Island, NY. A Veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during WWII. On April 11, 1959 he married Alice and raised their 2 children in Staten Island before moving to Colonie. Salvatore retired as a Printer from NYS Assembly. A professional trumpet musician in the 1940s he loved the NY Mets, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice DiBiase; his children, Joan Wunning, Steve (Janet) DiBiase; sister, Mildred (Clement) Sessa; grandchildren, Julianna DiBiase, Daniel DiBiase, Christopher Wunning, Brian Wunning. He was predeceased by his sister, Fannie (Joseph) Rosta.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 9:30-11:30 am at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A Funeral Service to celebrate Salvatore's life will begin at 11:30 am on Tuesday at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Memory Garden's Cemetery following funeral services on Tuesday.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
