Ruth M. Mccormack

ALBANY-Ruth M. McCormack, 85, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2016 surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 5, 1931 to the late Walter and Margaret (McDougal) Kern in Hempstead, NY.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dedicated to her family and friends. Ruth had a passion for life that led her to many places where she enjoyed meeting many different people. She wanted to experience all that life had to offer, from County Fairs to Broadway and anything in between. She was fun, funny, and full of life. Ruth had a vivacious spirit and was a strong woman of unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by those who were privileged to know and love her.

Ruth is survived by her loving daughters, Noreen (Philip) Atkins, Megan McCormack, Kerry (Sandra Hill) McCormack, Dee (Gerry) Hillis; grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Hildreth, Timothy Atkins; great-grandson, Theo Hildreth; brother and sisters-in-law, John (Virginia) McCormack, Anita Combes, Evelyn Kern, Jill Kern and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Martin McCormack, Jr.; brothers, Walter Kern, Joseph Kern; daughter-in-law, Catherine Myers; brothers and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen and Fred Danks and Ralph Combes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville, NY 12211 on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10 am. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 3-7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Interment will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11 am at The Cemetery Of The Holy Rood in Westbury, Long Island.
