On Thursday, June 25th, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, God claimed his gift to humanity, Mrs. Rose Moore to rest from her labors to join the Savior in that home not built with man’s hands, but whose maker and builder is God.

Mrs. Rose Moore, daughter of the late Louis Williams Sr. and Anna Chandler Williams Parker, received her formal education at C.E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, SC. At an early age she became a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Greeleyville, SC. After moving to Troy, NY, she joined the Fifth Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church. On July 3, 1955, Rose was united in holy matrimony to the late James Moore. This union was blessed with five children.

As a youth, she loved sports and was a standout basketball player. Rose enjoyed traveling and spending endless hours with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her brothers Louis Williams Jr., Lee “Buck” Green, sister Bernice Dobbins, nephews Edward Williams and Eddie Lee Williams. Also predeceased by her besties Geneva Daniels and Mary “Sid” Sanders.

Her memory will be eternally cherished by her children James Lloyd (Brenda), Cornelius (Charletta), Louis, Rosie (Sammie), and Myra; her grandchildren Damien, Loren, Charlene, Lorenzo, Andre, Crystal, Briana, Chariece, Tianna, Majeed, Quaylon, and Eva; 15 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren along with 2 bonus daughters, Patricia and Belinda (Perry); her nieces and nephews Othel (Willie), Catherine (Jackie), Dorothy (late Thomas); Sherry (Preston), Marilyn, Annette (Jimmy), Edward, Shanise, Adrian (Josefa), step-brother David (Trois), loving sister-in-law Rubie Moore; special cousin Joe June, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, her travel buddy Mary “Ray” Simon, her special friend Doris Riggins, and her loving Fifth Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church family.

Our special thank you with grateful hearts for your love, prayers and support during this time. Your kindness has been a comfort and a blessing in ways we will always remember. We would also like to offer a special acknowledgement to Dr. Darshan Arora and DCI Rubin Dialysis. May God’s grace and peace be with you always. - The Moore Family

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, from 9:00 to 11:00am at Fifth Avenue AME Zion Church, Troy with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
