Ronald “Ron” Wayne Boisjoli, 80, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, after a short illness. He was born January 1, 1946, in Denver, CO, to the late Wilfred and Beatrice (Ernst) Boisjoli. Ron moved with his family to Cohoes, NY, as an infant after his father retired from the United States Air Force.
Ron proudly enlisted and served in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of sergeant, during the Vietnam War while stationed in Okinawa. It was an experience that shaped his sense of duty and perspective on life. Following his military service, Ron met the love of his life, Patricia, and together they built a life and family.
Ron established a long and successful career in sales. His persistence and ability to connect with people served him well as a salesman. Ron could strike up a conversation with anyone, and those who knew him well knew that he always had a story to share. He valued honesty and was known to be honest, almost to a fault, a quality that made him both genuine and trusted by those around him.
He remained active in his community throughout his life. Until his passing, he was a dedicated member of his local AMVETS post, where he served as treasurer. He also maintained close ties with his Cohoes High School classmates, helping to plan and organize his 62nd high school reunion. He cherished the regular lunches he shared with former classmates, coworkers, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia, of 52 years. He was also predeceased by his younger brother, Charles (Chuck). Ron was a devoted father, grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by his four children, Matthew (Sandra), Nathan, Michelle, and Jessica (Steven). He is also a proud grandfather to Alyssa, Dylan, Brandon, George, and Frances. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In 2003, Ron received the gift of a heart transplant, which gave him an extraordinary second chance at life. With deep gratitude to the selfless donor and family who made the gift possible, he went on to live for more than two decades, enjoying time with loved ones, sharing stories, and living life to the fullest. His family will forever be grateful for the extra years they were given with him.
