Colonie- Roger A. Premo, 76, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 after a short, but intense, battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Saranac Lake, he was the son of the late Albert and Mildred (Cadogan) Premo.
Roger served proudly in the United States Navy as an RM3 aboard the USS Bearss. He spent most of his career as a Systems Programmer/Analyst retiring from HANYS in East Greenbush.
Roger was an avid golfer, both as a player and a fan. He was a member of the Senior Golf League at the Town of Colonie Golf Course. Roger and his wife, Carol, enjoyed spending winters in Florida. They also enjoyed many weekend and day trips together.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol A. Premo (nee, Hext); his children, Trista Premo and Jason (Danielle) Premo; his grandchildren, Justin, Brittney, Kassidy, AnnaMarie, and Ethan ("Little Man"); his sister, Joanne McAteer; his nieces, Kelly and Tracey McAteer; his cherished sister-in-law, Deb Hext (late, Christine Marshall); as well as many cousins and devoted friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Inurnment will be held on Monday at 10:30am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
