Rodney Green entered eternal life on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Albany Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Rodney was born and raised in Albany, NY. He was the son of the late Willie R. Green and Robbie S. Green.
Rodney graduated from Albany High School in 1984. After graduating he held several positions in local retail stores. Most recently, he was a clerk at the Bank of America until his retirement.
Rodney had a great imagination and aspired to write, sing and produce music. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Rodney’s passion was music and, as a DJ, he acquired an extensive collection of music of all genres, which he meticulously maintained throughout his life. He possessed a gift as a storyteller, recalling memories with beautifully rich details. Rodney also enjoyed home decorating, watching reruns of classic 70s sitcoms, quiet nights relaxing at home, and spending time in the North Carolina mountains with his life partner and family. Rodney possessed a quiet strength, outrageous humor, and a deep love that shaped our lives in words that can never be fully expressed.
Rodney is survived by his sister Susan Green of Bronxville, NY and his brother Anthony Green of New York, NY. Brett McCutcheon of Rensselaer, NY was Rodney’s life partner of 20 years. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whose lives he touched.
