Roberta I. Fahy

Utica- Roberta "Birdie" Fahy, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2016 with her family by her side. Roberta was the daughter of the late Campbell and Catherine Farrell of New Hartford. Roberta is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William Fahy.

Birdie was a graduate of St. Luke's Memorial School of Nursing in 1958. She became a registered nurse and worked for all three major hospitals in Utica, NY.
Family and friends were Birdie's passion and delight. She willingly supported their many activities and cherished time spent with her hockey family. She was a very loving and social person who was always first to offer help with baby & bridal showers and other community activities. She is well known for all of her sewing & craft projects and for being the neighborhood nurse. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children; Shawn (Tabitha) Fahy of Niskayuna, Sharon (Michael) Martini of Nanuet, Michael (Tracy) Fahy of Rensselaer. Birdie is also survived by her grandchildren; Tyler Brown, Hannah Fahy, Katie, David & Dylan Martini, Nate & Hunter Breedon, her sister Sharon McCarthy of Holland Patent, several sister and brother in laws and nieces and nephews.

Birdie is predeceased by her siblings, Doug Farrell and Sheila Farrell.

Birdie's family would like to thank the staff of Capital Living Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre for the loving care provided during her stay.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow starting at 3:00pm.

Interment will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00am at Green Lawn Cemetery in New Hartford, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern, NY or the National Kidney Foundation of Northeastern New York.
