Robert L. Reinhart

Robert L. Reinhart (Bob), 75, of Cohoes, New York, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He bravely confronted and fought cancer. He fought the good fight and always kept the faith. 

Bob was born on January 24, 1951, in Albany, New York. He was one of eleven children to Adolf and Louise (Carpenter) Reinhart. He was a lifelong plumber and carpenter. Bob and Mary Jo moved to Halfmoon in 1992 to live in the home they built. 

Bob was a man of few words, known for being a natural mentor and for his patience. He was famous for his life lessons disguised as DIY projects. He was an amazing self-taught man of many talents. He possessed the unique ability to fix and build anything. It was the simple things in life that Bob truly enjoyed. He loved family, a cold beer while relaxing on his piano stool, old western movies, and enjoying a good game of solitaire. He was most relaxed spending time at the lake, in front of a fire, or at the beach, enjoying the sunshine with another cold beer. While Bob may not have given us all the gift of life, he sure stepped up and made our lives better. His kindness and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Jo, and their children: Michael (Tina), Shantell (John), Thomas (Mary), Alicia (Tony), and daughter-in-law Lisa. Along with his beloved grandchildren: Marissa (Jeff), Aleecia, Gianni, Michael, Jordanne (Steven), Hunter, Ashlynn, Emily, Tommy, Leonard, and five great-grandchildren, Tytan, Houstyn, Lennyn, Jetsyn, and Waylen. He also leaves behind his siblings: Anna, Marylou, Patty, Suzy, Ralph, and Tommy. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Louise (Carpenter) Reinhart, and siblings: James, Garry, Connie, and Richard. 

Visitation will take place on February 25, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals located at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York, 12205. A mass will be held in his honor on February 26, 2026, at 10:30 at Blessed Sacrament Church, located at 607 Central Avenue, Albany, New York 12206.
