Listen to Obituary

Robert M. Ogren, 63, of Albany, passed away on April 17, 2026, at Albany Medical Center with his daughter Kassidy and her mother Debra by his side.

Born in Albany on October 20, 1962, he was the son of Mary Lee Ogren and the late Robert E. Ogren. A graduate of Colonie High School, Robert went on to build a career as a talented graphic artist, known for his creativity and dedication to his craft. He was the owner of A1 Graphics and one of the top artists in the Albany area lettering many race cars, trucks, and signs for years.

Robert had a lifelong passion for racing. He was an accomplished racecar driver who loved the thrill of the track, spending many years racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway and numerous other tracks throughout the region. When he wasn’t behind the wheel, he enjoyed time spent as pit crew for other racers.

He also enjoyed playing slow-pitch with Capital District Senior Softball, sharing camaraderie and competition with friends over the years. Above all, Robert’s greatest joy was his children. He took immense pride in watching Kassidy play softball and treasured the many trips they took together in support of her games. He enjoyed spending time with Kyle working on many different projects.

Robert was predeceased by his father, Robert E. Ogren, grandparents Roy and Arlene Ogren and Joseph and Frances Leonard, as well as aunts and uncles Roy and Shirley Ogren, Bill and Carol Ogren, Judy and Steve Schneider, Kathy and Randy MacDonald, and Joseph Leonard.

In addition to his mother, Mary Lee, Robert is survived by his beloved children, Kyle and Kassidy (Ben Luckey), as well as their mother, Debra. He is also survived by his brothers Mark and Brian, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A special thank you to the nurses at Albany Medical Center for their exceptional care and Bob's longtime friend Mark Krosky for all that he has and continues to do.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Pancreas Foundation in memory of Bob Ogren.
