Lansingburgh -Robert L. Kepner Jr., 92, beloved husband of Janice Mann Kepner for 72 years, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Glendale Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born to the late Robert L. Kepner Sr. and Marion McCormack Kepner, Bob was the loving father of Kevin (Liz) Kepner, Mark (Shirley) Kepner, Janice (Karl) Eden, and Eric (Jaime) Kepner.

Affectionately known as “Grandpa” and “Grumpy,” he was a proud grandfather to Deana (Jason) Prest, Adrienne (Joshua) Trantum, Mark Jr. (Don) Kepner-Clough, Keith (Kylie) Diamante, Jennifer (Dan) Kryzak, Jessica Eden (Chris), Brian (Wendy) Diamante, Matt (Kirsten) Kepner, Zac Kepner, and Alex Kepner.

He was also the beloved “Great Grandpa” and “Grumpy” to Makayla, Matthew, Andrew (Lexi), Gia, Emily, Austin, Aaron, Grayson, Jacob, Gemma, Aria, Parker, and Archer.

Bob is also survived by his sister, Betty Ann Markowski (the late Frank), as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Franklin (Ann).

A 1951 graduate of Lansingburgh High School, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War and was a Korean War veteran.

Following his military service, Bob worked at Matton Shipyard and later became a manager at Gordon L. Hayes. After leaving Gordon L. Hayes, Bob started Kepner Kitchens LLC, a family business he owned and operated for more than 50 years alongside his wife and sons. He retired in 2018.

Bob had a lifelong love of baseball and was actively involved in the local baseball community for many years. He served as a manager in the Lansingburgh Little League and Lansingburgh Independent League and owned and managed teams in the Mickey Mantle, Connie Mack, and Stan Musial leagues.

He was also a member of the Melvin Roads American Legion, Post 1231.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday September 21, 2026 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 181 Troy Schenectady Road Watervliet, NY 12189 from 5:00pm-6:45pm followed by a celebration of life at 6:45pm. Interment Tuesday September 22, 2026 at 12:30pm Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road Schuylerville NY 12871, with full military honors.
