Robert J. Watson

Robert J. Watson 79, of Troy, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Bonnie, by his side on February 12, 2026.

He was born on May 24, 1946, in Manhattan NY.

Robert was of the Methodist faith. He was a proud Marine who deeply loved his country and demonstrated that pride throughout his life.

Following his services in the United States Marine Corps, Robert worked for IBM in Poughkeepsie NY while operating his own lawn care business.

Robert cherished time spent with family, especially during game night and playing cornhole He enjoyed traveling, relaxing at his camp in the Adirondacks Mountains, and working on his truck.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Bonnie Maxwell; his siblings Barbara, Linda, and Norman. His children David (Crystal) Maxwell, Francis (Tarah) Maxwell, Samantha Maxwell, and Sherrilyn Mackey and several cherished grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Dorothy, his brother, Jack Jr. and his son Robert Watson, Jr.

The family has chosen not to hold services at this time. A private burial and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
