Gainesville, NY----Robert “Bob” G. Haldane, age 81, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice on May 10, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Suffolk, Boston, MA, the son of the late John and Marjorie Haldane. He was also predeceased by his brother John Haldane.
He was an Honorably Discharged Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong member of the VFW 4823 out of Warsaw, NY. He retired from General Motors after 36 years.
His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren, riding with the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, hunting, and spending time on the golf course.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy; children: Clint Haldane (Deborah), Tonya Glenn (James), Raquel Ackert (Norris) Fallon Frese (Matthew) and Courtney Pries (Zach). Also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
Thank you, Dad, for the sacrifices you’ve made for us and teaching us life lessons through your famous quote, “To each their own.” A man who never said a bad thing or placed judgement on anyone.
